What Is an Australian Labradoodle?
Not your average doodle. These dogs were purposefully created to be something special.
Bred with Purpose
The Australian Labradoodle was developed in Australia in the late 1980s with one clear goal: to create the ideal therapy and service companion. Breeders combined the best traits of the Labrador Retriever and Poodle, later adding in a touch of Cocker Spaniel to refine temperament and coat quality.
The result is a dog that’s intuitive, intelligent, and people-focused — known for being both allergy-friendly and incredibly loving.
More Than a Mix
Unlike first-generation Labradoodles, Australian Labradoodles are multigenerational — meaning they’ve been carefully bred over many generations for consistency in size, coat, and temperament.
That intentional breeding is what gives them their signature look and easygoing personality. They’re known for reading people well, adapting quickly, and forming strong emotional bonds — whether working as therapy dogs or snuggling up as family companions.
Proudly WALA Accredited
Today, Australian Labradoodles are guided by organizations like the Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association (WALA), which upholds strict standards for health testing, structure, and temperament.
As proud WALA members, we’re committed to those same principles — raising every Camden Lane puppy with purpose, integrity, and a deep respect for the breed’s roots.
